What Does the Blue Soul Mean in Undertale When Fighting Sans
In battle, the protagonist is represented by their SOUL: a red heart. Yet, many enemies in the game can modify the SOUL'south colour and alter the way it behaves. These are the SOUL Modes.
Each SOUL Mode corresponds to one of the SOULS of the Eight Humans, excluding the one used in Mad Mew Mew's fight.
Red
While the SOUL is ruby, information technology is in Normal Style and behaves normally. It can move in any management at a constant speed, and tin deadening downwards past holding [X] or Shift. The SOUL'south heart sprouts legs when it runs away from a battle.

While greenish, the SOUL is in Shield Mode and cannot move, but wields a shield-like spear from Undyne that protects the protagonist in whichever direction is pressed. Instead of dodging a blueprint, the protagonist must block arrows coming in from all 4 directions using this spear. This SOUL color is used by Undyne, who switches the SOUL between green and red using her spear. It is incommunicable to flee in this mode. Undyne gave the protagonist the spear in an effort to force them to face danger head-on.
Dark-green is the mode and color of the Green Human, who is also associated with Green Attacks, shielding, frying pans, cooking, healing, and kindness.
Purple

Muffet
When purple, the SOUL is in Trap Mode and can only motility left and right on a line and switch between lines using up and down. Spiders motility on these lines that the protagonist has to dodge, acting equally a web. When in this mode, the SOUL cannot ho-hum down by holding [Ten] or Shift. This SOUL color is used by Muffet later on she fills the Bullet Board with purple liquid on her kickoff turn.
Purple is the mode and colour of the Purple Human, who is also associated with traps, note taking, problem-solving, analysis, intellect, and perseverance.
Yellow

This SOUL color is used exclusively by Mad Mew Mew in the Nintendo Switch version of Undertale. While Bluish/Red, the SOUL is split up into red and blueish halves. When in this state, the left analog stick moves the cyan half and the correct analog stick moves the red half. Depending on the attack, the halves tin either move linearly left or right or in iv directions (up, down, left, right).
